Inside a recent open-source intelligence workshop and the investigations it’s already shaping.

An Under-Used Advantage

Open-source intelligence has become one of the most cost-effective tools available to law enforcement, and one of the most under-used. Our most recent OSINT workshop brought together investigators to build practical skills in digital footprint analysis, social media investigation, and lawful data collection.

Built Around Live Cases

Rather than lecture-only instruction, the program was built around live case exercises. Participants worked through realistic scenarios modeled on trafficking and organized crime investigations, learning to corroborate information across multiple public sources while documenting findings in a way that holds up in court.

Already Shaping Active Investigations

Feedback from participating agencies has been direct: investigators are already applying these techniques to active cases, cutting down the time it takes to identify leads and build a defensible evidence trail.

Sustained by Our Supporters

Programs like this are only possible because of the trainers, partners, and donors who make our work sustainable. Every session we run strengthens not just individual investigators, but the institutions they serve.

The best intelligence is often public — if you know where and how to look.
